Please understand that the “cool kids” and “popular kids” at your school most likely don’t exhibit behavior that is truly cool or respectable.

I’ll start with my own personal experience growing up.

When I was in school, the “cool kids” and “popular kids” tended to be the ones who:

  • Were obnoxious and rowdy.
  • Demonstrated wildly immature behavior.
  • Bullied and picked on others.
  • Ignored anyone they deemed to be inferior.
  • Were disrespectful to the teachers.
  • Loved to gossip and create drama.

Let me be the first to tell you, if you haven’t heard this already, that if you try to pull this off in adulthood (replace “teachers” with “superiors” like your employer/boss), you’re in for a *rough* ride.

There are three words that I told myself very frequently while growing up:

People. Baffle. Me.
