Don’t Put Your Best Foot Forward; Put Your Honest Foot Forward
It’s not about the caricature. It’s about you.
In the past, I’ve struggled a lot with falling too hard for the ladies.
Even though I’m a nice person, I realize that in trying to score a date with someone I was attracted to, I would be extra nice.
Being extra nice is a good thing, but I feel like it’s a different story when you’re trying to be extra nice to someone in exchange for something else, which in this case, was a date.
Dating is a tricky topic because I don’t blame anyone for wanting to date someone, and I guess my concern is coming from more of a perspective of: don’t be dishonestly kind to someone for a date.
But what about when it comes to other things?
- What if you’re kind to someone because you want them to give you money?
- What if you’re nice because you’re trying to manipulate someone?
- What if you’re friendly because you have some other sneaky, ulterior motive?
