I’m going to be going over a revelation that I discovered the day I decided to start podcasting, and it has to do with positive and negative behavior return on investment, or ROI for short.

I had consumed some of Gary Vaynerchuk’s content, and after ruminating on what he said about positive and negative behavior ROI, I thought I’d provide my own take. Hope you enjoy!

First, let’s briefly and simply clarify what I mean when I say “positive behavior” and “negative behavior.”

Positive behavior — any behavior that promotes the wellbeing of others. For example, being kind and charitable towards others.

Negative behavior — any behavior that does not promote the wellbeing of others. For example, being a bully and cheating to get ahead.

Which behavior do you think gets ahead first? Which one leads to success?

In order to get a more accurate idea, we’d have to split between the short-term and long-term future.
