I'm actually so glad I stumbled upon this article Martin.

For the past several years, I've worn black and white clothing and accessories, emphasizing clothing that mixed both colors together in a variety of patterns and designs. It's a long story, but I like these colors because they represent my nature vs. nurture, and I wear both to represent that who I am today is a consequence of both. Sometimes, I refer to such accessories as my "scars."

But "scars" oftentimes have the connotation of being something ugly. I did not know about Kintsugi until I read your article. Reading this gave me a new perspective that what I wear, while it shows that I have been broken and reforged, is beautiful. This proof that I have overcome adversity is beautiful.
