I want to make sure that you're aware that as long as your content exists on Medium, it is never going to be your "personal space." It's Medium's space, and they're letting you use it, and if they don't like how you're using it, they have every right to delete your content and ban your account. It's in their Terms of Service.

Peter is right about transitioning over to your own blog. That way, that space would truly be yours. When you're not writing on your own blog, you're at the mercy of the people who own the website.
