Hey Celia, while I totally get the sentiment of what it is you're saying here, I think there are two things that could also be addressed here:
1. Find a balanced state where you're doing something that brings you happiness later that is also bringing you happiness now. Continually postponing happiness for later can create a miserable present.
2. If what will bring you happiness later is not something that is enjoyable in the slightest now, there's a good chance that the same activity and task won't bring you happiness in the future. Thus, it becomes a self-defeating project.
But I do agree with the sentiment of playing for the long-term as opposed to the short term. Well written, Celia.
