Great article Lisa! This is also why I encourage people to say what they mean and mean what they say. It’s not just about “taking the role of interpreter” off your shoulders, but it encourages honesty and establishes credibility and trust in a relationship. With the rise of social media, people like to pretend, “fake it till they make it,” and live dishonest lives and people put up facades in front of others.

It’s not hard being honest. Society needs to catch up.
